- On an expired batch, tap 🗑 Write off. If a batch is still within its date but will not last until the next shift (the Until the next shift section), or it was broken, spilled, or spoiled before expiry, tap Manual write-off.
- Compare SORT’s suggested remainder with the physical amount and adjust it with −/+.
- Choose the truthful Poster reason, such as Expired, Defect, or Damaged.
- If Also written off appears, check or choose the linked ingredients.
- Confirm the write-off once. For 30 seconds you can tap Cancel; SORT does not contact Poster before that window ends.
A full write-off closes the batch. A partial write-off reduces the remainder and keeps the card on its shelf. This action creates the main batch write-off in Poster; configured linked ingredients may also be written off at confirmation or when the batch closes.
If the interface says the outcome is unknown, do not tap again: a manager must check Poster first. If the correct reason is missing, ask the manager to add it in Poster.
After success, the card keeps a receipt for linked ingredients. If you notice a mistake after commit, tap Report an error; this creates a manager decision and does not automatically restore Poster stock. Offline, the card says Waiting to sync and never pretends the write-off already happened.
